I installed windows 7 professional 64 bit on my computer through a genuine disk but when I tried to use the product key it read as invalid. After failed attempts to recover it i used one from an online source and it worked.... kinda. it says that my winows is genuine but when i try to do a windows restore, it says that my copy of windows is not genuine and that the key cant be found. more specifically "The unattend answer file contains an invalid product key." How do i fix this? is there some command that force restores it? is there anything i can do to get it to read my key as genuine or ignore it completely when doing things like restoring

Solution
If the product key for the "genuine disk" was used before, you won't be able to install it again on different hardware. Whatever you did online was a mistake.

First of all, you need to make sure you have the product key for windows 7 professional (64) bit. You cant use the 32 bit one. Wherever you bought the copy should have given you the key. Like you said before you used a genuine disc did you make sure you bought the license too?
