New to liquid cooling looking for entry level cooler for 2 RX 480s

In about three or so years I plan on upgrading my 1080p setup to a 1440p setup, and if more and more games support Crossfire then I can just add another RX 480 to my system and maybe have an entry level liquid cooling system. That'd still be much cheaper than the GTX 1080 for similar performance and cooler components (if luck and Crossfire support is on my side).

Since I know absolutely nothing about liquid coolers except that you have to change the water every month and the initial setup can be a bit frustrating to noobs such as myself, I naturally decided to ask here. I already have an aftermarket cooler for my i5-6600k, so would it be possible to save some money and just focus on cooling the GPUs since AMD Crossfire setups are famous for being secondary home heaters? If so what products and prices would I be looking at?

Obviously I don't plan on upgrading for quite a while, but I still doubt that any GPU released in the next few years will be able to overpower a Crossfire RX 480 setup for $250 or less.

Solution
Just give up. Custom loop will cost your $350+ with a single pump and 240mm radiator. Get better graphics card with the money.

And i think you are not familiar with developing. It is very difficult for a developer to add support for multi gpu. Parallelizing a task in programming is complex, and not all workloads can be parallelized. IMO, multiple gpu support will decline in games, as we are getting fast single gpu now a days.

Edit: If you need better cooling, try better case and case fans first. Custom loops are good option if you have the best cpu, gpu in market right now or you are into modding.

Hi,

I wont say I know alot about water cooling, but after watching some videos, water cooling can be hell annoying to be installed as many factors play a part. For example this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtHDqdo5pR0 (40m) shows how to install water cooling and what troubles can be faced. Also the case you have & fans installed & PSU and other parts and I believe cable management is important too.

Watch that video I hope it will give a good info about water cooling. Also I am not sure about changing the water every month! But I cant say you dont need as I dont know much about it, but maybe will added it too.

Regards,

Maybe, but from the progress in GPUs I've seen in the past three years I HIGHLY doubt that there will be a GPU in the next three years that can beat dual RX 480s for less than $250.

after three years people will be playing on 8K monitors , and 4K monitors will be the entry level , and GTX 1080 like card will be midrange for $300

I was speaking towards cooler options.

For a CPU liquid cooler, 3 years ago a Corsair H100 was the bees knees.
Today, a Cryorig A series is better for a similar price.

For an air cooler, the CM 212 EVO was the one.
Today, not so much. It's still good, but there are better.

But those are liquid CPU coolers. I'm talking about custom loops and or kits to cool a couple RX 480 GPUs.

For cooling just the RX 480s what kind of parts and prices would I be looking at? I don't have a picture of my current build or my cable management but that can always be improved at any time.

If there's a GPU that does, I'll get it. It's as simple as that. But nobody knows that. There is a point, and instead of arguing I'd like it if someone could actually answer my question. Thank you for your opinion though.

Ah yes I see your point. I guess this thread is really useless.
