I recently built my first gaming pc, and I bought a wifi adapter for it. I downloaded all my drivers and I start browsing the web. The internet speed was very slow, and download speed for steam and skype were very slow. I looked into the problem and saw that the wifi adapter was only compatible with windows 8. I have windows 10. I checked if anyone else in my family had slow internet and download speeds, but their internet/download speeds were fine. Is it because I have a windows 8 wifi adapter? Do I need to return it? Do I need to upgrade it somehow? Am I missing a driver? Is there a problem with my storage drives?

Wifi Adapter: TP LINK WDN4200

Storage drives: Toshiba P300 1tb hard drive, and a sandisk ssd.

Motherboard: MSI h170a PC MATE

Solution
TP Link isn't showing a Windows 10 driver being released for it, so you may want to return it. One thing you can try is to uninstall the driver, and then reinstall it in compatibility mode for 8.1.
