I bought a refurbished laptop off of newegg last week. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834315380 I did a lot of research into this. The price seemed a little low for its specs, but it had good reviews overall so I bought it.

A few times now the SSD usage has spiked up to 100% at seemingly random times. I ran a few tests to see what I could find: AS SSD Benchmark, Seatools, and HD Tune Pro. The first two passed without any problem. HD Tune didn't detect any errors on its Error Scan. However, I saw this: http://imgur.com/a/CQfFf . Event Viewer also shows a lot of these: http://imgur.com/a/5wmqw and http://imgur.com/a/hQFUw

I'm not quite sure what that means, and google hasn't helped much. I haven't even tested the other hardware yet to see if it's working like it's supposed to.
Is this a big problem? What can I do about it?

Thanks for the reply! Apparently this laptop is non-refundable on Newegg (Although even when actively searching I can't find anywhere it says this before purchase. It's really misleading), I don't see how it's fair to send defective parts in a non-refundable laptop.

Support said that they would keep me informed if there are any changes. For now I'll just use the laptop until the SSD is unusable. Is there any chance you could explain what the problem with it is, and if it is even usable?

So after talking with customer service, finally getting a replacement, I started the laptop and used HD Tune Pro. Once again, it has the SATA downshift errors. Only 65k this time so far.

I'm starting to have doubts whether this error actually reflects the drive's physical condition. I'd feel bad for ordering a replacement if that is the case. However, there is very little information about SATA downshift errors. Does anyone else have info on this?
