After installing a new graphics card a while back I noticed a new issue with my computer. When I booted it up, it would stay on the initial screen while the computer beeped in twenty second intervals, not leaving that screen until the fourth such beep. After digging around for a solution recently I discovered that it was more than likely an issue caused by my BIOS not being updated to account for the new hardware.
I found the BIOS update and installed it. When I reset it, the beeps were gone and the computer booted much more quickly, but following the login screen I have nothing but a black screen with the cursor. I can use Ctrl-Alt-Delete to open the Task Manager, but I cannot do anything else from there. Booting into Safe Mode has the same result. I can access the BIOS, at least, by holding F2, but resetting to defaults does nothing. Is there anything I can do about this?
