Older Graphics Card Working Better In Sony Vegas Than Newer One?

I have a GTX980ti and an i7-6700k build that is my gaming pc. I will render videos on here from time to time. I also have a Phenom II x6 1100t and Radeon HD6850 build that i mainly use for rendering. The Older build renders videos, 2-3 times faster than my gaming build. I was thinking maybe its because OpenCL on the older build is more optimized with sony vegas than using CUDA on my gaming build? They both have 16Gb ram. Older build is DDR3 and newer build is DDR4. Maybe this is because graphics cards render videos out slower than cpu's and since the option in sony vegas is only "Use OpenCL if supported" so im thinking that maybe on my older build it is choosing the 6 core Phenom processor over using the Radeon 6850. And the 6 core Phenom processor is beating out the GTX980ti using CUDA? This baffles me, and all videos are being rendered at 1080p 60FPS

Yep. Especially the Nvidia cards compared to old AMD ones, see: https://www.studio1productions.com/Articles/SonyVideoCards.htm

Sony Vegas Pro and Sony Movie Studio are based on using OpenCL. Both AMD and NVIDIA offer OpenCL support with their video cards. However, AMD has put a lot of effort into their implementation of OpenCL, which is why AMD video cards perform exceptionally well with Sony Vegas and Sony Movie Studio, along with other programs that use OpenCL.

Since NVIDIA is pushing their proprietary CUDA technology, they don’t put a whole lot of effort into OpenCL. It is not implemented well and it really shows when it comes to Sony Vegas and Sony Movie Studio.

Now some of you are going to say, that you can use CUDA with...
