Hi, I have a Z170N-wifi mobo which I'm putting inside a Thermaltake Core V1, with a corsair H60 to cool the CPU.
This means I have three things that need connected to fan headers - the 20cm three pin case fan in the case, the three pin pump connector for the H60 and the four pin fan to attach to the radiator.
The motherboard has two four pin fan headers, CPU and System.
I'm getting a four-pin splitter to try running all three, but I'm wondering how to connect things.
I'm only a little confused as the pins are laid out differently for the CPU and System fan headers:
Cpu, from 1-4 is: GND, +12V, Sense, Speed Control
Sys, from 1-4 is: GND, Speed Control, Sense, VCC
I'm just wondering whether 3 pin fans will even work off the system header - is it not VCC which provides power for the fans to run?
My current thought is to power the Pump from the CPU header, as it is three pin will it just run at full power constantly? Then use a 4 pin splitter to run the two fans from the system fan header.
That or I don't use the 20cm fan. I'm using a reference RX480 which should exhaust hot air, and the layout for the other two fans would put one on each side of the radiator!
The instructions for the H60 suggest that it doesn't matter which header the pump is connected to...
Sorry it's a bit long and convoluted, but the last parts for the build (PSU, GPU, RAM) arrive tomorrow and I'd like to get started!
Thanks!
