my usb 3.0 device doesn't work in usb 2.0 port

Solution

I have numerous USB 3.0 devices (hard drives, USB flash pens, SD card reader).
I have 8 working computers with only USB 2.0 ports.
None of the USB 3.0 devices are recognized by any of the 8 computers.
I have two smart TVs with USB 2.0 ports.
Nope. Not recognized there either.
A smart BluRay player with USB 2.0 port.
Nope.

I have one very new computer with USB 3.0 port. All usb 3.0 devices work just fine.
I have one very new smart TV with USB 3.0 port. All usb 3.0 devices work just fine.
Conclusion: USB 3.0 devices...

I also thought the device would operate at 2.0 speed if I plugged it in. But the device doesn't work at all. I plugged the same USB 3.0 device into my other PC that has USB 3.0 ports, and the device works.

Conclusion: USB 3.0 devices ARE NOT backward compatible with USB 2.0 ports on older machines.

I would pay money for a device to translate my USB 3.0 devices to USB 2.0.
But no one makes such a thing because the industry says it's not necessary. The industry is wrong.
