Hey guys, recently I've been reading about the PC master race and wanted to have a PC for it. A gaming PC with a monitor and tools/cables if needed, or anything else that might aid in helping build/repair the PC. I'd like the PC to be able to play most games, stream and very light editing.
So, I've heard some news about the new "GTX 1080" and wanted to have a build around it. The reason for such a high-budget is if it is possible to get it future-proof ( Be able to play most games around 60fps on high/ultra-ish settings). Wanted to ask a few questions related to PC building and stuff of sorts. Firstly, why choose that component over another one, what makes a monitor look good. ( I've seen numerous monitors that look horrible and some that look amazing ), water-cooling vs fan-cooling long term, how much the temperature would affect the PC on over-heating, what type of GTX 1080 should I get and why. Thanks alot! If you have any tips for a newbie when building!

No need to spend close to that much.
- 6700k is fastest mainstream cpu
- cheap air cooling can't leak, best return on investment (coolers that cost twice as much only buy you another ~300MHz)
- pretty much any ~$150 mobo will be fine, make sure it has any special features you need
- 16gb ram is enough for years to come
- 500gb ssd is enough for OS, several large games, plus several smaller games
- gtx 1080 will push great framerate on 1440p/144hz/gsync monitor
- fractal r4 has adequate cooling and is a quiet case (if you want to emphasize cooling over noise my Carbide 500r is still reasonably quiet and has sufficient built in fans with a speed controller)
- go up to 800+ watts if you think you might run 2x1080s some day
- that dell monitor is the best bang for the buck in 1440p TN panels these days (same features as more expensive brands, good color, good build quality)
- might add a $5 static wrist strap for safety
- watch newegg system build videos on youtube
