Hi!
I wanted to buy a 6600k but I read that K series dont come with a stock cooler , and I cant afford a 212evo / x right now , I will need something similar to the stock cooler so my cpu would work until I can buy a better cooler and oc .
I saw a deepcool alta 7 but it was an old product and Im not sure if it can be installed on 1151 and not sure if it can keep the cpu cool ?
are there any alternatives?
(I will also use the integrated gpu for playing very old games, does that increase temperature?)
Thanks in advance!

Just turning you pc on will make the cpu overheat an turn itself off without a cooler on it. You kinda have to buy a cpu cooler. The cheapest ones worth buying is the DeepCool Gammaxx 400 or evo 212, Both around 28usd.

hi , thanks!
I actually decided not to buy 6600k and buy normal 6600 , because buying an extra cooler and the K's extra cost are not worth it for me . I really didn't want to overclock more than 4ghz , but the 6600 already turbo boosts till 3.9 and with a very minor BCLK I can reach 4 .
Is a 212evo still good (if I buy it later) if I dont want to really overclock , for silence / longer cpu lifespan ?
thanks!

An after market cooler is always better then the stock cooler regardless of whether your ocing or not. Keeps things cooler an more quiet. Always a bonus.
