PC freezes and forces me to restart when gaming/running a stress test on GPU

I've recently installed Total War: Atilla, and sometimes during the game it freezes and my pc starts to struggle to run, forcing me restart. Screen also goes black for an instance. With that being said I'm suspecting there is a small problem with the GPU, which should be able to run it without problems, even being a few years old. I've decided to proceed and run a stress-test (Furmark) and when it reaches a certain temperature (around 60ºC) it starts to struggle running and freezes a few times, forcing me to restart.

All I did until now was to try installing the latest drivers, but it didn't seem to help.

My Specs are:
Intel Core i7
EVGA GTX 660Ti Superclocked
12GB RAM
Asus Motherboard P8Z77-V
1TB HDD
250GB SSD

Solution
Well the last thing you could try to narrow it down (though at this point it really seems like the graphics card) is to try it in another system if you have one accessible.

No I haven't, thanks for remembering me of that. Gonna try that now.
Btw, just marked as best solution accidentally because I clicked the wrong button in the email, but who knows, might be! hahahah

Thanks hahah
Well, I tried using DDU this time and do a clean install of the driver. Unfortunately, it didn't seem to work, although it managed to lat quite a bit longer on Furmark before needing me to force restart.

I don't have another system available, but I do took the GPU out of the pc and opened it up to give it a clean. It seems to have worked, just ran FurMark and no crashes. Will try some gaming later and see if something happens.

Thanks for the attention and help!

Well that's good news. However I wouldn't have thought that would be the problem as you mentioned the card only reaches 60C in Furmark. If the card had been really dirty, your temps should have been much higher. If this has worked for you, who am I to look a gift horse in the mouth.
