CPU bottleneck? I need help on how to upgrade my PC for some casual gaming.

I recently got back into PC gaming and I noticed something. About a year ago I asked for help upgrading my PC so I could run some games a lot smoother. I almost ended up getting a higher end GPU, but settled for a cheaper entry gaming card. This way I could just buy the card and still use my terrible 300 watt PSU. When I got the GPU and got it working, I noticed very little difference on some of my games. I tried a game like Minecraft just to see how it worked and it seemed to improve a lot. I didn't think much of it at the time, but now I realize this could point to a CPU bottleneck. My CPU is very low-end. I ran my favorite game (CS:GO) to see my GPU load while playing, at it was consistently hovering at about 20-30%. My CPU was around 70%. I don't know if this is definitive proof, but I can't see how it not my CPU slowing me down so much. I first questioned my CPU when I saw my graphics card's benchmarks and realized they were much higher than I could ever hope for. So I want to upgrade my PC to get rid of the bottleneck so I can casually play games. I know little to none about upgrading hardware and compatibility. If someone could give me some suggestions on how and what to upgrade within my budget it would be greatly appreciated. Also, if upgrading my motherboard will be required for this, I think I rather pass.

My Specs:
CPU- A6-5400K APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics, 3.6 Ghz, 1 Core, 2 Logical Processors
GPU- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti (This one)
PSU- 300 Watts
RAM- 6GB
HDD- Seagate Barracuda 1TB
PC- Gateway DX4380G-UW308

Budget- ~$200

I honestly do not know what motherboard I have. I believe it is an FM2 socket, but I am not certain. I know if I upgrade my CPU I will have to upgrade my PSU. I am NOT looking to spend all kinds of money on this upgrade. I simply want to remove to possible bottleneck and if I can't so be it. I don't really know how to switch out a CPU, so if anyone could also give me some tips I would appreciate it. Thanks guys.

honestly your putting money in a dead platform your gonna struggle and yes your cpu is a big bottleneck its very old now

i would get a new pc theres some refurbished pcs on newegg

like this one the i3 4130 would blow your old processor out of the water

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=1VK-001E-060H5

combine it with this ( so it can support your 750 ti

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16817438012

this is were it gets to be a royal pain

you would have to get a portable drive down the road 1tb or higher and put these games on to that drive and any documents and put it on the refurb pc harddrive you can still use your existing drive but you would have to erase it

anyway drop me a pm before making any decisions and get back to me and ill see what i can do

i dunno if you what your operating system is atm

things that wont change is the 750 ti and the 1tb can be reused and possibly the ram if you cant afford the 8gb version model of that tower and a psu we could most likely use your old ram but youd have to remove the ram in that machine

anyway drop me a pm

Honestly, I just wanted to fix the bottleneck. I know I said my budget was $200, but I am looking for the cheapest solution to fix the bottleneck. I was not really looking for a long term solution, I just wanted to be able to run games I can already run smoother. Are you saying it is impossible to improve performance with a simple CPU and PSU upgrade? If so, I may just scrap the whole idea. Thanks though, I will keep it in mind.

you could get a slight boost by going with the althon 760k the performance would open up 2 additional cores but it would still bottleneck any other gpu beyond a 750 ti

richland is far to old the 4130 is only one generation behind

while richland is 2 generations behind

youll see a benefit not a huge one unless the games are coded for multiple cores

your CPU is not a bottle neck for GTX 750 ti ...

want my advice ? keep your Money and Buy the new coming Playstation 4 NEO ... it is coming in this year 2016

it will be 4.1 TFLOPS machine , you know the meaning of this ? it means it will be the same speed of RX480 !! or GTX 1060 !!

and for $350 only ..

you get 8 cores cpu , GTX 1060 speed GPU and 8G ram , and a cool controler ..

and it plays games on 4K resolution s well.

keep your money in your pocket .

The 760K is an excellent suggestion. I am assuming it is this one correct? If I buy this, what PSU do you recommend? One that is sold on Amazon is preferred, since I have Prime. The main game I want to boost is CS:GO, and many people say that enabling multicore-rendering when you have multiple cores spikes performance.

Thanks man. I appreciate it so much. I don't know if I will buy the fan since the CPU comes with a fan, but I am assuming you added the fan because that fan is much nice. Anyways, thanks again!

you will need the fan trust me these chips run hot as hell and the stock coolers on these models were garbage
