Can a DDR5 card replace a DDR3 graphics card?

Can a Radeon HD 5750 with 1 GB DDR3..... be replaced by the GeForce GTX 970 4GB GDDR5?

Clearly I don't know much about computers. Apologies if this is a stupid question.

Yes as to the ram being different ddr5 is faster and performs much better than ddr3, as for the card itself you may need a power adapter if your psu doesn't have the required 6 or 8pin connectors (the one I looked up required dual 6pin) and it may be too big depending on your case, would need both your case and psu specs to say for sure.
