My friends computer wont boot up and i want to make a repair drive for him. Will this put my data on his computer? Will it save his data? Or will it just give him a fac reset? (Also my computer is running Windows 10, but I also have a Windows 8 Laptop(which is what version of windows my friend has) Is it possible to use a windows 10 repair drive to repair a windows 8 machine?)

No, No and No. A repair drive will attempt to do a repair, but not a factory reset. Factory reset you would do within the options of the computer or from the disks the vendor provided. You can't use a Win 10 repair disk to work on a Windows 8 system.

It won't save the data, you have to do that yourself. Remove the drive from the system, add it as a secondary drive in another system, copy the files out.
