Ok, ive searched high and low for an answer to this and unfortunately can't find one so I have to post, my Asus laptop was working fine then the next day I turned it on and it flashed up the usual Asus screen and then went black and a whole heap of cursors _ flashed along the bottom in different places rapidly then i get left with a funny looking symbol that kinda resembles a club from a playing card or a space ship from an 80s arcade machine flying upwards. I cannot seem to anything from this point on.
Now i can get into bios with f2 and i tried changing boot sequence to DVD drive first to try a repair but still does the same. I have also tried removing battery and holding down power for a minute then connecting power then shutting down and replacing battery nothing seems to help. Has anyone got any Ideas??? Its an older laptop but still runs reay well so im hoping it hasn't completely shart itself
Thanks in advance

Are you saying that when you try to run a repair with the DVD, it does the same symbol screen, or does it actually try to run the repair but then goes to that screen?

Try running one RAM stick at a time if you have more than one, or try a different RAM stick. Also try re-seating the hard-drive.
