Asus M5a99x r2 evo
fx 8350
8gb ram
corsair cs550m psu

CM K350 case, Have 2 CM blademaster sys fans installed, one in the back, one on the side.

Question: In theory, the 1070 GTX should fit in, but does it ?
plus im not sure if my PSU will be enough for it ?
Thanks in advance for replies!

The RMi is considerably better than the CS. The RMi is built for gaming rigs, has much better outputs, better protections, stronger rails, quieter, better built, longer warranty. You name it, the RMi is better at it than the CS. That goes for the HXi or the AX too.

Zotacs amp is 300mm, Gigabyte G1 is 280mm. So should be no reason a gtx1070 won't fit, you'll just have to rearrange the drive bays.

Technically the CS550 is enough. But. It's not a good unit. The C lines are Corsair's budget line and not intended for the stresses inherent in a gaming gpu pc. It'll work, but the question becomes for how long, especially when paired with the fx power hogs under OC.

Wouldnt OC them, im sporting a 760 GTX OC currently which seems to be the most stable card i ever had, but im having performance/graphic quality issues with it.
So you say the PSU could be a problem? Would it be nearing it's max load with my rig + the 1070 ? I hear these 1070's have about 150 TDW.

Psu is a CS 550w. That's enough power. It just a really crappy psu that was not designed for the up and down instantaneous power draws a decent gpu demands. The power itself is not all that clean, its got a pretty hefty ripple, what's generally called noisy, on all its rails. It's very low quality, built with low quality components. It's best suited application is for an office pc, not a gaming pc. Most CS used in gaming rigs don't last the 3years they warranty, and it costs as much to send one back as it does to buy a new one, so most don't bother with RMA. Has nothing to do with max load, has everything to do with quality of the unit and it's performance. It's entirely possible that the psu is the reason your 760 is dieing.

I see. Well i was 100% satisfied with my PSU so far, but maybe time has come to get a much better one. Can you recommend a tier 2 PSU then, that would be all snuggly with this new card ? Preferably from corsair.
(Tier 1 PSUs are non-existent in my country, and tier 2 are pretty rare and few brands, but corsair is available)

PS.: also have to fit the K350, but i guess thats not an issue.

Zalman, seasonic, fsp, coolermaster, chieftec, antec
The problem is more about not getting much tier 1 or tier 2, people don't seem to need that and it just became hard to find on the market
bluechip.hu has the largest list, but the local shop ("local" ... the closest one is 68 km away) can't get every piece. Been waiting about 3 months for this CS550M psu i have, and without doubt, this is the best one i've had ever. Picked this one after reading JonnyGURU's review.
Price doesnt really matter, if im willing to blow 400$ for a videocard i'd like to get the best PSU possible for that GPU.

Corsair RM750i this is 80+ gold, pretty damn cheap too, my CS550M actually cost more than this one. Found this in Tier 1, is this the best one possible?

Then theres Corsair HX750i, and the Corsair AX760 760W.

Im leaning towards the HX750i

Just one more question, will that 1070 be a bottleneck ? I am having an fx8350, ive read things, that the 1070 will not perform better than my current card "760 gtx oc", but my current card is not performing all that well (15-30 FPS on ultra with lot of things on the screen, 40-45 usually) and i'm just playing like Dragon age inquisition and Fallout 4 lately, more than likely will only play Mass Effect Andromeda when it comes.
I like to live in the past, so im just playing 60HZ 1440x900 resolution on an IPS HDTV, not planning to go 4k or anything, i just want to play my current games at 60 fps for now, and later will probably upgrade the mobo and cpu to the Zen (in 5 years maybe) So whats the deal with the FX and the 1070 ?

Does a gpu overkill be harmful in any way, or maybe slowing my cpu down ? Im not really a fan of the AMD cards, although i had a good one for a short while, but i got used to nvidia, and from those, up to the 970 gtx there isnt really much difference that would justify the price. The 1070 is better at leasty by double the amount if not triple.

The Rx480/gtx1060 will maximize almost every game at 1080p. You are on 900p which will take less effort for either of those gpus. 2x 760's in sli come close to the ability of either one but it's always better to have 1 big gpu, not 2x smaller.

As to harmful, yes and no. Yes because you'll get so many fps shoved at the monitor you can get tearing and other problems, like trying to cram a size 12 foot in a size 4 shoe. No, because most games, and definitely the gpu and monitor themselves have v-sync which limits the amount of fps. In your case, it would be limited to 60fps and stay there since those cards are so powerful, the minimum fps would almost never drop below 60.

As to bottlenecking, its possible. The fx series at stock speeds are somewhat lacking in performance. FX Cpus really don't start performing up to ability until OC'd decently. Get your 8350 up around 4.5GHz (yes that means a good aftermarket cooler) and there's a sizable difference.

If you do opt for the gtx1070, you'll almost certainly need to OC the cpu or it will be a limiting factor in fps. Your next investment would be a decent monitor, a good 29" ultra wide, 27" 1440p etc. For the 480/1060 I'd go a 24" 1080p.

I did not find the 1060 or the x480 in stock, but ill continue to search. So the 1070 would still have low FPs in 2014ish games ? If thats the case im not going to buy that one for sure.

Nevermind, i found one 1060 and its cool and much cheaper, i'll go with that one, thanks!
