Will 2 graphics cards make a huge difference?

Hello there, I currently have a gtx 980 evga superclocked gpu installed on my PC by itself. I know the 980 is no longer new and cannot run most games at the highest settings above 100 fps so I was wondering if i should add maybe a 970 into the pc to boost the FPS rate? Also i have another question... will my cpu temperature rise if I add another gpu? Thank you for reading.

A 980 will not sli with a 970, so there is no point in getting a 970. Some games run slower on sli anyway. GPU`s have no effect on the CPU temperature.

Will a 980 only run in sli with another 980 do you know? and thank you! The only games i play are WoW and Overwatch so they are great with SLI!

A 980 will run sli another 980. Don`t bother buying a 980 with more vram because sli will only let you use the vram of the smallest card.

980ti will not sli with 980, they are different cards. I don`t know why they are the same price.
