I've just found out that my motherboard isn't compatible with my GPU so I'm buying a new one. This is the first time I've replaced a motherboard so I don't know much about the process. When fitting the new motherboard do I need to use thermal paste at any point? One of my friends keeps telling me that I need to.
Thanks.

Solution
yes..it helps the cpu move heat off of the cpu and onto the heat sink. if you dont repaste you can get air pocket and cause the cpu to run hot.
