I have two sticks of 2gb RAM together and I decided to buy a third stick (single 4gb stick). I made sure it was compatible with my mobo (pc3 10600, and 1333 MHz). I seated the new RAM with the other 2 still in it and it stuck at the Dell loading screen. I then removed the old 2 and it still didn't work. Eventually I got the BIOS to recognize all 8gb (all 3 sticks) but my PC keeps going off and on and off etc. I tried moving the jumpers for the COSM thing and even removed it's battery but it still doesn't work. When the old 2 rams are in without the 4gb stick the PC works fine. Thanks

Don't think there's much you can do, your memory controller just can't handle that combination of mixed RAM. This is the reason it's always recommended to buy RAM in matching kits. You might try manually changing the timings of the new RAM to match that of the old if you have that option in the Bios.

If you have a dual channel RAM motherboard you should add/replace memory in pairs, what slots are the 2GB RAM in? I would buy a 2nd 4GB identical to the 1st one you just got and stick that in with other 4GB stick (in the correct slot for dual channel - read the manual for your mobo) and with the 2x2GB sticks removed. Then if that's ok, try adding the 2x2GB back in. If they're not compatible - sell the 2x2GB sticks.
