I am looking to get more frames in all games. For my budget the highest GPU I would be able to purchase would be the GTX 970 and the most expensive CPU would be an i5. Which one of these would make a bigger difference for gaming?

Here is my rig

CPU - AMD FX 8350
GPU/Graphics Card - EVGA GeForce GTX760 SuperClocked w/EVGA ACX Cooler 2GB
Mother board - ASUS M5A97 R2.0
Ram - G.Skill Ares Series 8GB
Power Supply - EVGA SuperNova 750w
Case - Rosewill ARMOR-EVO Gaming E-ATX Mid Tower
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
Hard Drive - Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200 RPM
SSD - Samsung 840 EVO 120GB

I think you should get a 1060 or an RX 480, both of which cost a similar price to the 970 and outperform it. I would then look to upgrade the CPU next year when Zen and Kabylake have arrived. In fact I just bought a 1060 with this exact thought in mind.
