Hiya!

I have an old Intel DH77EB Motherboard and I can't seem to access the BIOS menu/settings. The machine boots up fine, the Intel splash screen shows for a moment, then loads Windows no problem. But when I try to access the BIOS settings during the splash screen (pressing F2), all that shows up is complete blank, gray background.

To give a bit more context, I could access the BIOS settings before, and the background color is gray by default. Now all I see is no text, and just the completely gray background filling up the screen whenever I try to access it. I tried using shortcut keys like F10 (according to Intel's website) to exit the BIOS settings but it doesn't do anything. I haven't ever messed with the BIOS settings. Tried resetting the CMOS battery, no effect. Have yet to test using another monitor.

Anyone have any ideas? I don't want to risk updating the BIOS just yet unless I have no other choice. Could something be wrong with the intel graphics? Corrupt BIOS?

My build here is pretty simple, if it helps:
CPU: i7 3770 (non K version)
RAM: Kingston 8 gb
GPU: stock Intel hd4000 graphics from the cpu
HDD: Seagate 1TB
PSU: ST50F-P SilverStone Strider 500w

UPDATE:

so i was cleaning my pc and tried to reseat all connections to motherboard and miraculously I could access BIOS settings. After a few restarts (because I encountered another problem, but that doesn't matter right now since it's within the OS), same problem happens and I can't access bios setup again. I'm suspecting the bios is failing to load the bios menu/settings. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?
