So, as the title implies, I want to build a dedicated server for Minecraft. I already have some parts picked out, but I figured that I'd ask some people(that's you) for some advice.

Case(Corsair Carbide 100R): https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Carbide-100R-Tower-Case/dp/B00RORBQNW

Motherboard(Asus Vanguard B85): https://www.amazon.com/Vanguard-B85-Intel-microATX-Motherboard/dp/B00GBJX6IC

CPU(Intel Xeon E3-1231V3): https://www.amazon.com/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E3-1231V3B-BX80646E31231V3/dp/B00KB4A2XA

CPU Cooler(Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO): https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Hyper-212-RR-212E-20PK-R2/dp/B005O65JXI/ref=sr_1_sc_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1470662585&sr=1-1-spell&keywords=coolser+master+hyper+212+evo

RAM(Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB): https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-Ballistix-PC3-12800-240-Pin-BLS2KIT8G3D1609DS1S00/dp/B006YG9EEW/ref=sr_1_5?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1470662803&sr=1-5&keywords=ddr3+sdram

Harddrive(s)(WD 500GB RE Enterprise Hard): https://www.amazon.com/500GB-Enterprise-Hard-Drive-SATA/dp/B00D38VN6G

PSU(Corsair CX Series, CX600): https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-CX600-Supply-Bronze-Certified/dp/B0092ML0OC

Since this is my first build, I'm asking to make sure that there are no incompatibilities, and if there's anything i should reconsider.

All tips are greatly appreciated, thanks :)

What kind of minecraft are you playing modded, latest version or a previous version?
How many players do you expect to be playing on this server?
Do you plan to do a hypixel type setup, mini games or just normal MC?
what is your budget?

please list the above to give more information about what you're doing exactly to make it easier for people to answer

Minecraft only uses 1 core to run a server and the rest for dumping, though it seems like Mojang is trying to change that with the 1.11 update. With this in mind the processor you've chosen is overkill. I would also dump the case and power supply as you don't need a nice/expensive case for a server.

I feel this build could work but i really don't know what type of MC server this is so...
