Hey guys. Since all the new games are coming out later this year im considering to upgrade my GPU. I'm currently considering to either get another GTX 780 to run with my current MSI Gtx 780 or just considering to get a 1060 and let my 780 lay on my shelf(Impossible to sell in my country). What would be best for performance? i'm only playing 1080p at a 144Hz

Thanks in advance.

The 1060 is not an upgrade. It performs under, but closely to the 780. Your realistic options are to either stick with the 780 or go SLI. SLI has it's own set of issues, but a 1060 is a waste of money in your situation.

Best performance is SLI 780, next would be the 780 you have. A slight downgrade would be a 1060. I hear SLI support is getting worse, so it might be better to save up and go for a 1070 or 1080.

The second GPU will cost about 150$

The 1060 will cost about 350-400$ in my country.

And i have made sure that my Mobo and PSU is alright for SLI :).

Thanks for the answer.

Yeah ive heard the same by alot of people. I guess i'll keep my 780 till Christmas time then get a 1080. My 780 is still doing all the games i've tried at ultra 1080p so i think ill be okay for now, thanks for the help.

A 1060 is on par with a 980, how is it worse? Every benchmark I've seen has the 1060 outperforming it by at least 10-15%. Plus double the VRAM and it's a clear winner.

That said I think a 1070 would be the first real upgrade choice
