Hello,

I didn't buy any card yet, but now I should since there are new several cards that came out, I have a GTX 260 so I think it's time for an upgrade. I really don't know what I should pick... the RX 480 or the GTX 1060, GTX 1060 seems better overall then the RX 480 but I heard the RX 480 will be better in the future in new games, although I think I won't play those games. I also saw a 780 Ti for about 200€ but that card is quite old so I don't know if that's a good choice.

What games will I play? F1 2016, Battlefield 1 and 4, CS:GO, League of Legends, Overwatch, H1Z1, etc...

I hope you can help me out.

Kind Regards,
Tony

You're going to be getting well over 60fps in most of those games fully maxed out with either anyway, CS:GO, League of Legends and Overwatch you'll probably be over 100fps so either will be awesome. Battlefield 1 is going to be DirectX 12 on release and should perform better on the RX 480, in theory.

You won't go wrong with either.

Thanks for the advice... well I think I won't play Battlefield 1, not sure yet... Let's say the most demanding games I will play would be H1Z1 and Overwatch at the moment. My GTX 260 can't handle those games so I really need an upgrade.

Alright, thanks guys, I'll go for the GTX 1060, is there any particular brand that you guys prefer or is the ''best'' at the moment? The ASUS one has 3 fans but does it perform better then the MSI one?

go with MSI one? i heard stories that Asus quality has been dropping as of late (for their gpu anyway). one of our regular here have to RMA his strix 1060 because of coil whine issue. the one he bought for his friend (MSI Gaming X) have none.

The latest Strix cards do not cool things other than the chip well. Really, there is no need for a 3-fan card just to cool the GPU. GPUs don't just die, it's the VRMs or memory modules and fans that die when a card goes. And more fans technically means a higher risk of a fan failing.
