Hello, ive been playing games with my pc with no problems for a long time, but now somehow games start to lag, not because that GPU is bad but there is something in the background that causes games to run slow no matter what settings are on, i was digging alot but didnt find what made all games lag so i decided to try a razer game booster, and it actually worked it stoped the lag but after a while something turned on and lag game back, so i really cant find any way to find what causes lag maybe you guys could help me out, thanks

I personally use the Razer Cortex app with no problems but I'd say that it just needs a good virus scan if you don't do that regularly already with software like Malwarebytes or AVG free edition. There are a lot of other things that could happen to make the drops occour though. As an example, if you were to install another HDD and installed an OS, if the random drops stopped happening then that would be something with the OS, but if they still occoured then that would be a hardware problem. Another example is CPU cooling being insufficient causing thermal throttling, which reduces the performance of the system so that it won't burn itself out. However it could be anything from a failing power supply (I've seen this happen first hand...

However it could be anything from a failing power supply (I've seen this happen first hand where the PC can grind to a halt with very unstable volt rails), or it could be bad capacitors or failing RAM, etc. The first place to start would be the malware scans, if it doesn't work then try installing Linux on an empty, spare drive. Still no results then you'd need to diagnose the system itself.
