Right, ive got a couple of questions

1. Im currently running a 4790k@4.6GHZ, and a gtx 1080 and im looking to buy a second 1080. What im wondering is will the reduction to 8x pcie per card make a difference to performance?

2. Im running games on a 1440p 144hz monitor, ive heard that when pushing many frames, the 6700k is noticably faster, is this tru?

3. There is a benchmark by digital foundry that compares framrates between different proccessors here: https://youtu.be/VDo-j00vUtw. In this benchmark the 6700k has a significant performance gap next to the 4790k, were as other benchmark contradict this, in those benchmarks framerates are almost identical, so am i missing something here? Or was this an innacurate benchmark?

Thanks.

If you get acceptable FPS (>60) there is no point in upgrading much ...

I would keep my money in your place .. dont get a second GTX 1080 ... the Pascal Titan X is 20% faster , expect that the GTX 1080 ti to be 30% faster (overclocked) or maybe more .... I dont think you will need more than a single GTX 1080 ti .. no need to go for SLI and keep in mind that not all games scale in SLI.
