Hello

My old Rig is
MotherBoard : Asus m5a99x evo
CPU: AMD phenom II 3.5GHz
RAM: XMS 3 ddr3 8 gb from corsair
PSU: 650W (gaming model can´t remember full spec sry)

It all worked fine no problem at all and i decided to upgrade it to a new AMD CPU FX9370 Using the same MotherBoard and the same DRAM, theonly thing that i changed along with the CPU was the Graphics Card to a XFX AMD RX480 8GB.

So now when i PLugged everything in nothing worked, no red LED's no post no power to the keyboards ETC, BUT all the fan's were working and it apeared that the CPU was working ( Through sound only as nothing happened).

I am a newbie in terms of flashing bios or cmos so didnt do any of it, tried starting MEM OK feature from MB, Still nothing.

So i changed back to my old setup, and now this one doesn´t work as well,Exacly the same thing, no red lights no post no power for the keyboard etc, and all the fan's work as well.

I tried disconnecting everything and turn on indivual parts as only the cpu for example and no RAMs or GPU installed and still no red lights no beeping noise from speaker etc.

checked everything from bent pins on the cpu to checking if there was any dirt on the MB connections.

Please someone help, i am kinda desperate and don't know what to do..

Solution
The ASUS m5a99x evo MB does not fully support the FX-9370. MB supports up to 140W and TDP draw for FX-9370 is 220W.
You would have to upgrade your MB to fully support your CPU.

Also please list your Cooling System as you need AIO Water-cooling if you intend OC as Air cooling is inadequate.

Also list your Corsair DIMMs p/n to check for compatibility, that they have been tested in conjunction with the MB.

Also your PSU at 650W is borderline and should be 750-800W gold certified.

You may have luck at stock frequency but issues will arise when under load. IMO

Try clearing CMOS and latest Bios flash update is recommended. If unsure on how to go about this, then instruction will be given.
