Older pc connected to new LG 32LH500B tv. Pc shows on tv, 15 seconds later I get invalid format or now no signal.

My older pc connected to a LG Hdmi tv via dvi to hdmi converter. Pc screen shows on tv, then I get no signal and invalid format..why does it do this and how do I make it stay on my pc screen? Is it the resolution on my pc that is causing this? If so please tell me what it should be set at. Help please thank you =)

Since you did not list what your resolution is set to, no way to say if that is the issue. Is it set to the native resolution for the TV? Does the system work fine on a different display? Maybe without that adapter?
