I'm replacing my Nvidia Geforce GT 430 with a MSI Geforce GTX 970. My current card is just hooked to the motherboard. My new card needs an 8 and 6 pin. I only have a four pin available I believe from my 800 watt PSU but it is split from another 4 pin with a fan. Is this possible to split again into two more four pins for the 8 and 6.

Solution

4+4 is for the motherboard not for gpu's

if your "800w" power supply does not have the 8-pin and 6-pin pcie cables then it is either very old and needs to be replaced

or a cheap piece of crap chinese faker and needs to be replaced

what is the make and model of the power supply?

SO I had two six pins but they each have another six pin coming off of them. DO I use the one connected to the other one I plugged in or use separate?
