Hi,
I am running win 10 pro as a host machine, i wish to set up virtualization for testing and learning purposes, consisting of a virtual server and virtual clients.

in oracles virtualbox, which virtual network adapter would i be best to choose from that virtualbox offers that the virtual server and virtual clients can comunicate with each other?
and possibly that the server only, has access to the internet (although this is not soo important )

or would i be better using the built in Hyper-v manager? and if so how do i then set it up that they communicate with each other?

Solution
With that amount of ram your PC will prolly crawl with that many VM's also the cpu will be loaded at more than 50% probably but CPU isn't a problem. All of the VM's are going to be windows based right ?
You could start with reading setting up something like this http://www.fixedbyvonnie.com/2015/04/how-to-setup-an-active-directory-domain-controller-in-virtualbox/#.V6mP0zW3TXg
Setting something like that would allow you to have Domain controller where you shall start reading about it (DC) and Active Directory and so on.

Hyper-V or Oracle virtual box both will do the job, depends which is more easy for you.
I'm currently using Hyper-V and im happy with it, before i was using VMware and before that Oracle box, all of them are good.
About communication, you could make a private network between the Virtual Machines (VMs for shorter).
And just on the server VM you can add additional network card, that either shares your network interface internet with it OR it could publish the VM in your original network like an additional client so it would get IP from the router/dhcp thus getting access to internet if its enabled by default.

How many VM's you are going to run ? How much Memory you got and what CPU ?

just want 1 server, 3 clients, as in 1st as tech PC, 2nd as reference pc, 3rd as client pc.
at the most i would only be running the server and 2 pcs at the same time.
I have 8GB RAM (7,88GB usuable) and my CPU:- Core i3-3110M @ 2,40Ghz
i am more comfortable with Oracle although i am trying to get to grips with hyper v
