I have xfx 550 ts series bronze psu and a gigabyte gtx 960 4gb windforce 2x OC and i want to connect the gpu with the psu. Thing is my psu pcie cable splits into two 6+2 pin connectors. My gpu has one 8pin and one 6 pin.
Should i use only one cable to connect both of the gpu pins or take 2 different psu cables and connect one in the 8pin port and one in the 6pin port?

Most likely you are talking about a semi-modular unit with primary PCIe power directly connected. Those things should be fine to use, the 960 gpu core doesn't even need a single 8pin, let alone 8+6, gigabyte just put it in to give overclockers a bit of extra head room without drawing too much from the mobo.
