Hello,

if i connect computer direct to modern, i can get almost 300MB but if i put my router in between I only can get 60-80MB, but the router spec. said the speed is up to 297MB, so my question is that is this 297MB divide into 4 ports? so each port only get a quarter of that. and is there a way to fix it, i want to buy a newer router but many of them only upto 300MB. any suggestion what should i do?

thanks

First I believe your are getting Mb (little "b") bits rather than MB (big "b") bytes. You probably have a router with 100Mbit wired ports. Don't believe router specs. They exaggerate every way legally possible. What brand and model is your router ?

yes, kanewolf you are correct it is 300Mbit, the current router i am using is Netgear WNR834B v2, and another router i have is linksys WRT54G, i connect them in serial. both of them are old router, if they are only 100 Mbit per ports, is there any router 300 Mbit per port?

thanks
