Currently I want to upgrade my PC and I do not want to replace my motherboard or cpu just yet. I want to upgrade my power supply and gpu. I want to know the best combo GPU you guys recommend for my CPU to get max performance.

Specs:
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 945 3.0 GHz
Memory: 8GB
Motherboard: N-Alvorix-RS880-uATX
HD: 1TB
Power Supply: 500 Watts
Case: Mid-size ATX
Height: 40 cm (15.75 inches)
Width: 17.78 cm (7 inches)
Length: 43.18 cm (17 inches)

I am getting the 500 watt power supply and I need a GPU that will work with the motherboard and fit in the case. Hopefully someone can help me with that for the best GPU/CPU performance

I wouldn't spend too much unless you are also planning to upgrade your CPU and motherboard in the near future. You didn't say what your budget or what your current GPU are so it's hard to make recommendations for a noticeable upgrade.

I probably wouldn't spend any more than the cost of AMD's new RX 460 or 470 with your current CPU. It will hold more powerful cards back in many games so they won't perform any better than those cheaper cards.

If you know you are going to upgrade to an i5 CPU or at least an i3 in the near future you can go with a much more powerful GPU depending on your budget.

With the current gen video cards, 500 Watts should be plenty. The only cards that are above that probably won't fit into your case. Take a tape measure and measure how much space you have, then look at the dimensions of the cards you're looking at.

Well, I am currently able to spend anywhere up to $200 on a graphics card. If I were to upgrade my MOBO and CPU I would want to get a fx 6300, the reason I am not doing that is because my current MOBO doesn't support it and I heard I will get problems reusing my hard drive and windows buying a new mobo. So the whole MOBO problem and my hard drive is keeping me back from buying a proper CPU

I wouldn't recommend upgrading to a FX 6300 anyways. Yes, it is an upgrade from your current CPU but it came out 4 years ago and a modern i3 beats it by a wide margin.

The best GPU for $200 is going to be the RX 480 4GB if you can actually find one in stock for that price. More realistically you will be able to get a RX 470 4GB in that budget. I would maybe just get one and see how it performs with your current CPU. It will probably prevent the 470 from reaching it's full potential in some games but you might be happy with the results anyways.

If not your next step would be a new motherboard with an i3 or i5. If you go with a Skylake model (6000 series) you will also need new RAM. If you go with Haswell (4000 series) your current RAM should be fine.

The RX 480's are really expensive right now, not really finding any around $200 only $270+, I will get the RX 470 for $219 instead as it is a great GPU anyway. Thanks

Prices are out of wack right now because supply is low. The 470 should end up closer to $180 and the 480 4GB should end up closer to $200 but that might not happen for several months when extra cards are just sitting in storage taking up space.

If you are in the US the MSI Gaming 470 is currently in stock for $199 at Newegg. This is still more than this card should cost but it's a better deal than the $219 you are seeing elsewhere.
