I bought an OEM install code and disc for win 7 pro for the PC im building. Im trying to use my laptop to create an ISO from the disc.

Ive used several programs to attempt this, but the windows USB boot tool keeps rejecting them. I suspect its the lack of UDF. Are there any free programs i can use to fix this?

I tried power ISO but it wanted $30.

NVM, finally figured it out:

using CDburnerXP:
first option-create data disk
select dvd/drive/files
add all files to compilation (takes a few minutes)
go to media options-change file system-UDF, 1.50
file>save as/convert to ISO image

ok, quick question:
i got it all copied to the USB no problem, except for one thing: its telling me it could not run bootsect.exe
I tried downloading it and following instructions, kept getting the same result.
I look in the files on the USB and it's there in the boot folder
is that where it's supposed to be? will this work?

Checked what, and how?
May be a bogus DVD.

apparently bootsect is a common issue, but ive tried the usuao solution, and keep getting the same result. Ill see if i can get it to work after i finish assembling the pc
if not, ill just see about downloading the files straight from microsoft. if anything ill just download those and use the COA code that came with my disc
