So, i live in an appartment and we have a special internet connection for students, but the modem is limited to 16 ip adresses and everyone can use one ip adress. My question is that if i use a wireless router instead of directly connecting my pc to the router, can i connect multiple devices to my router and still only use a single ip adress from the modem?

Solution
If the dorm assigns you dynamic IP, all you have to do is to plug in the WIFI router. Most everything should work at their default.

If the dorm assigns you static IP, then you have to manually configure it into the WIFI router.

For details, am sure you are not the first student over there who have thought of this, ask around.
