Hi, I recently got a EVGA GTX 1070 FTW for my new pc but I still have a Amd FX-6300 that i got with the computer. Should I upgrade the cpu for my new gpu? Will the cpu hold the graphics card back in terms of performance? I had a GTX 970 before and I dont seem to see a great improvement between the two cards and i'm wonfering if the cpu has something to do with that. Also what cpu would you recommend i get to replace it (budget of about $400) Thanks

To run a 1070 without a bottleneck youd need at least a good i5 quad core. if you skylake 6th gen, the lowest cpu would be the i5 6400. Though id recommend an i5 6500 or 6600 if you have the funds for it.

I kind of have the same issue I bought an EVGA sc+ 980 Ti and still have an 8350 fx cpu, personally I would get a 6600k and a z170 motherboard if possible so you can oc the processor nicely. I'm going to do that for my build but I need some saving because I need new ram with it and I want a fully modular power supply.
