Hello, my pc config is as below.
I5-6600k
Cooler master hyper 212x
Asus z170 pro gaming
G skill ripjaws 8 gb
Asus strix r9 390 DCU-III
Cooler master b600v ver.2
Cooler master HAF 912
Seagate 1 tb
Its my first build, and i was advised to go for the k version of the cpu. Normally i use it only for gaming. The cpu would normally hit 3.8ghz on load, but after i ran the ai-suite 3 optimization, my cpu would peak at 4.6ghz at 1.328 vcore. My question is, is this automatic overclock okay, or should i do it from the bios? My max temperature of the cpu would peak at 55c on idle and 70c on gaming. So is the automatic oc from ai-suite 3 okay for my setup?

I didn't think the Z170 Pro Gaming had 5 way optimisation, nice :) In my experience with it, it gives a good base line, you could probably undervolt a bit and still keep 4.6GHz overclock or bump it up to 4.7GHz with the same voltage.

But to just bang in an unlocked Skylake processor and automatically overclock your CPU and forget about it, there's nothing that beats ASUS' 4 and 5 way optimisation.

4.6 @ 1.328 vcore is fine but you might be able to get away with a lower voltage. Usually the automatic overclock optimization error on the side of stability by giving you more voltage.

Also, I would run aida64 or some other stability testing software to confirm it's stable.

Well, as i mentioned, my preference to build this pc is just for gaming purpose, and gaming is fine on this settings. Regarding about the Vcore, it is automatically set by 5WO, so should i undervolt or should i just keep it as it is?
