Cd writter won't burn at 4x speed

Hello! I own a pc with a lg GH22NS70 cd drive.On the manufacturer's site it says it can burn cd's at 4x speed, which i'm trying to do to make a music disk for my car cd player.I tried nero, imgburn and cdburner xp.In nero it doesn't even display the 4x speed, the lowest is 8x speed.The same happens with the other two programs.So what can i do?

are the disk burns failing for data under run or over run?? if they are make sure the chipset drivers for the mb are updated. also check your aspi drivers. that what the cd rom burner software uses to burn.

What software are you using? A lot of newer software doesnt even support 4x burning

I updated the drivers and now it recognized the 4x speed in nero.But after i insert the cd, the lowest speed becomes 8x.So it might be the cd with the problem, right?
