Hi everyone,
I recently bought a few components to upgrade my old pc and I'm having problems with a USB Wireless Adapter that I have. When I click the WiFi symbol I can't find any wireless network and when I troubleshoot it or open the wireless utility driver it says that the Wireless functionality is disabled (barely translated from spanish to english), the utility driver has an option to turn it off or on but it's disabled by default and I can't change it.

The weird thing is that when I booted my pc after installing all the components for the first time the WiFi worked properly and now it doesn't

Any idea of what might be causing the problem?

My specs:

- Sitecom WLA-2100 n300 USB (Old and causing problems)
- i5-4670k (Old)
- Motherboard Z97-P (New)
- PSU CoolerMaster VS550 (New)
- Sapphire Radeon RX 480 Nitro+ (New)
- 16GB G-Skills 1600Mhz (New)

Btw I already tried reinstalling the drivers and connect it on different USB ports

Solution
What OS are you running? Have you gotten the latest BIOS and drivers for the mobo. The ones that came with the mobo may well be out of date.
When I did my last personal build, I had A Wifi connection on the workbench. When finished and moved to desk I switched to wired and updated drivers.

1. I called Asus and they insisted that I update the BIOS as new drivers were not guaranteed unless using latest BIOS. I noted that the new BIOS was two days old and that the "new" drivers was 78 days old, so apparently the new driver was supported for 76 days and now it suddenly unsupported ?

2. I did all they asked and their answer now was, WiFi and Ethernet is an either / or thing ... can't have both installed and active at the same time. Odd that this worked fine until updated drivers and BIOS.

I would try

a) Disable ethernet
b) Uninstall WifI driver
c) Reboot and install latest WiFi driver
