So I have 2 WD Blue 1TB HDDs and when I try to move files either between them, or just from folder to another on the same drive, I'm only getting AT MOST 2 MB/s speeds, but it's usually around 350-600 KB/s. I'm not sure if this is suppose to be the speeds I should be getting, or if I need to change some settings to get better speeds.

Just like @SkyNetRising mentioned the SMART stats are okay, it's only the Power On Hours Count that concerns me and it could be a process that is causing this, indeed. You could also try running the sfc /scannow command. The System...

I tried once setting it to AHCI, but when I tried booting after that it crashed when it tried to load windows. I'll try again, hopefully it will work.

Hey there, @tsunme!

I'm sorry to hear about your issues with the WD Blue HDD. I'd recommend you try swapping the SATA cables connecting the HDD to the motherboard and also try plugging it into another SATA port on the motherboard. If the transfer rate is still so sluggish, backup all your files from both WD drives somewhere off-site and make sure the data is safe and sound elsewhere. Afterwards, run the QUICK and EXTENDED tests from WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics for Windows. The utility will help us determine the health and SMART status. You can also check this one on the diagnostic utility you have already used, just click on the Health tab.

Keep us posted with the troubleshooting!

Hello again, @tsunme!

Please backup your data from that first WD Blue HDD of yours and run the QUICK and EXTENDED tests from the DLG tool I shared with you in my previous post. According to these screenshots from the health tab of the other utility, it looks like your current value of the Power On Hours Count has decreased below the normal range which is 96-10. This basically means that the HDD was powered on continuously. You don't like to turn off your computer too much, do you? :D This SMART attribute is not considered a pre-failure warning, though, but you should definitely keep an eye on the drive. I'd also suggest you check the WD Blue's warranty on our website and see if it's still covered. If it is, I'd advise you to seek further assistance from our Customer Support.

Hope this was helpful. Best of luck.

Oh my, I didn't know having it on continuously would degrade my HDD that fast. Would it be fine to put it into sleep mode when I'm not using it, or just fully shut down?

Just like @SkyNetRising mentioned the SMART stats are okay, it's only the Power On Hours Count that concerns me and it could be a process that is causing this, indeed. You could also try running the sfc /scannow command. The System File Checker basically allows you to scan for corruption in the Windows system files.

Hope it helps. Keep us posted.

Hello again, @tsunme!

Indeed, the transfer rate definitely looks much better now! I'm glad it improved. Keep an eye on the performance of this WD Blue and also make sure you track the processes every once in awhile, just like @SkyNetRising mentioned.

Best of luck with everything! Hope we were helpful! :)
