so my mom go a Dell Latitude e6400, and when we got it, it could not connect to our WIFI. we contact the seller and told them that we could not connect to the WIFI. They assumed it was the WLAN card so they sent us a new one. I put the WLAN card in but couldnt plug the tiny cables in, so i brought it to a PC repair shop and they plugged the cables in. After that they tested the internet on their WIFI and it worked fine, so we thought it was just the WLAN card. We bring it home and we try connecting to the internet and it doesn't connect. It shows the wireless networks but it will not connect. And yes I updated the drivers. Does anyone know what the problem may be? My brothers PC works fine though a wireless adapter, and i use ethernet.

If you need to know any more info please ask.

Open the Network and Sharing Center - the wireless adapter settings can be found there.

You might try running the troubleshooter - may find your network and prompt you for the SSID, password, and encryption information.

Use the same information as shown on your brother's PC. You do want the Dell to get its IP assigned via DHCP from the router.

Check the tutorials in this forum for more information and detail with respect to configuring your wireless adapter.

See what you can do and then post additional questions as necessary.

I think you need to configure the wireless adapter on the Dell Latitude so it can join your home wireless network.

Use the wireless adapter settings on your brother's PC as a guide to configuring the wireless adapter on the Dell Latitude.

You will also need your wireless network's SSID, password, and security settings.
