Hey guys, I need your help
My WD elements 1TB is showing in device manager (as mass storage device) and windows does give sound when I insert it in any port.
It is not showing in my computer or diskpart or bios boot menu.
I dropped it a couple of times but it worked, and after one day windows showed my to there is problem in the drive and gave the option to fix it after that the problem arised.

Hard drives are not tanks. They do not survive drops well and properly backing up important data is the minimal level of responsibility for a professional. If your drive is physically damaged, WD won't be able to do much for you and if recovery software can't see the drive, your options are a very expensive firm with specialized equipment to recover hard drives or losing the data (and both will involve buying a new hard drive).
Hi there yash5555,

Sorry that you are facing some issues with your WD drive. :(

Mechanical drives are really vulnerable to shocks/hits. In case you have really important data stored on it, my suggestion would be to look for some professional help. You can take a look at WD's Data Recovery Partners: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=VkK7m8

Apart from that, as the drive is not recognized in diskpart, then I believe it will not be recognized by Disk Management(you can check that out).
In case you will not really be able to access it with software tools. Your system could be seeing just the enclosure but not the HDD inside.

Let me know in case you have some more questions,
D_Know_WD :)

D_Know_WD, thanks for giving your support.
I have already registered my product on that site, and I don't know what to do next.
I had important data within that HD, since I am a professional. I will not mind even If my data gets lost until I don't have to buy a new HD.

Sir, It is showing even after uninstalling the mass storage in device manager it comes again if I insert it in usb port, but not showing in diskpart itself.
I think (don't know exactly) but must be some sort of internal software of HD is damaged by windows.

Also I need to mention that in boot menu it is taking some time to open the boot menu when the HD is inserted.

Hi there yash5555,

Where have you registered the product? The link that I've provided, leads to different data recovery companies with their coordinates(e-mail, website, etc.).
Yeah, it automatically reinstalls the drivers.
It is more likely a physical issue than a software one.

The drivei s not recognized by Disk Management right?
