I have a dilemma, I noticed the rapidly falling prices of the gtx 970 and also the lawsuite that has been filed against it, I contacted Amazon and said I can have a full £260 refund, this means that I could then afford a gtx 1060 as they are selling for about £240, but I also have £130 in the bank already, so should I be spending the £390 on something else? Or should I not bother with the refund, if so, what could I upgrade with £130?

My current specs:
Gtx 970
Amd fx 6300 with water cooling
A £35 gigabyte motherboard
8gbs (2 x 4) ram
Micro atx case.

One question is important here, what resolution are you playing on and what games.

if you are playing high res like 1440+ or 4k(quite impossible with that card but whatever)

if you are planning on playing big titles on high res and even VR you should upgrade to the 1060 (will probably be futureproof for 1440p).
if you are only on 1080 and 1440 and no or limited use of VR the rx 480 would be fine and futureproof for 1080.

i think that processor is fine, i dont really know how powerful it is but from what i've seen an I3 equivalent.

*edit another guy said your computer is fine but if you can get a full refund a 1060 would not be a loss of money but just a nice upgrade with little to none extra money invested. so you can ignore most of the above.
