Hi everyone, I am wondering what will happen, regarding to performance increase or decrease, if I add this graphics card http:// to my current card, which is this one.. http://. I know it will bring the specs of my higher card down to it that of the lower, but my question is, would the sli of essentially the lower version be better performance than that of the higher by itself? The ONLY reason im considering doing this is because the price of the lesser card that I can obtain from someone locally is basically just a few bucks, so would be worth it if i saw much performance gain.... pls help or point me in the direction of a case where someone did something similar and had benchmarks! thanks!

really? I had not considered that at all tbh, I was under the understanding that all same # cards would sli together regardless of differentiated specs, that they would just match each other on speed by the highest one coming down to that of the lower.. hmmm, hopefully more input? not saying you're wrong though!

check this nvidia FAQ out! use the find function and just type oem and it will take you down to the oem card exceptions https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/469402/ from reading that it seems like as long as its not a dell/alienware oem card then I am probably good?

This is the part that leads me to believe you cant:
- All GPUs must have the same amount of VRAM and an identical Bus Width
-- You cannot use a "2GB" version with a "4GB" version or "3GB" version with a "6GB" version in SLI or a 1GB 192 bit bus with a 1GB 256 bit bus Etc.

The OEM has a 1.5 or 3GB memory size and a 192 bit interface. The standard 760 comes in 2GB or 4GB on a 256 bit interface.

See I was reading last night on forums that they could have different vram but it would just match the lowest... and that you could mix different memory cards. now bus size im not 100% sure on.... I mean for how cheap the card it, its worth using to see if it will work as long as it wasnt from a dell/alienware. So the real remaining questions is.... (granted it does work) would it be faster or slower and how much probably lol
