Trying to upgrade my processor

So, I'm not good with computers. I don't know where to check for half of the stuff that I need to know and the other half doesn't usually help out that much. So, what I want to do is upgrade my processor. I want to get an i5-6500 processor, but I'm nervous about two things, based on what I've read. 1: I don't know if this processor will work well with my graphics card or just bottle neck it and restrict the processing power. I've asked some of the friends, and they have assured me that it won't happen, but I never really know until it goes wrong. 2: I don't know if this processor will work with the motherboard I have, and I don't know if I should find another processor of comparable power or just replace the motherboard, which I would rather not do anytime soon.

My current processor is an AMD FX-6300
My current Motherboard is a Z1-7641

EDIT: I don't know why I didn't put this in. I have a GeForce GTX 670

To run that processor you will need a new motherbd & ram. Amd & Intel processors are not interchangeable and the new cpu uses ddr4 instead of ddr3 like the FX does.
AMD does not have a processor of comparable performance. The best you can get is the FX8 series like the fx8350 for that board (if the internet can be believed)

Since you didnt mention which graphics you have, we couldnt answer those questions.

Will I really have to upgrade my RAM as well? Is it an issue with the fact that my motherboard is AMD? And what would you recommend? My computer, has about 8 GB of RAM installed, from what I can tell.
