Will this CPU bottleneck my RX 480?

I currently have an AMD A8 6500 Quad-Core 3.5GHz than can go to 4.1GHz.

I'm thinking about buying an RX 480.

I'm really scared that it will bottleneck the gpu as i dont have money for any cpu.

Whats the level of the bottleneck if it does?

For games that are not especially CPU intensive like CS:GO, you will have no issues. For games that are especially CPU intensive like Star Wars: Battlefront, your APU may hold back the 480.

However, any APU will do this. There is no upgrade path on the FM2 or FM2+ sockets that avoids this issue.

Will it cause massive issues? I doubt it. Would you notice the difference compared to an i5 6500? Somewhat.

It will bottleneck sometimes, some games that run on Intel at >60fps will only work in the range of 40-50. If this frame rate (depending on the game, 40fps to maybe 70fps) is acceptable- then having RX480 is fine.
A better solution would be to upgrade to a used overcklockable i5, or new i3 6100 and maybe an RX470 instead, especially if you play at 1080p.
I have a similar speed processor, q9550 at 3.5GHz, and plan to get a rx470 myself. I will use this setup of mine as temporary solution, and it will be fine for me in games I play (turn based/tactical/strategy/RPG), but I'm planning to upgrade to a modern CPU in winter.
