Question about case wiring

If i don't use the front usb ports or audio ports on the front of my case i can just have the panel connectors from the front of my case plugged into the motherboard and everything will work (other than the usb and audio ports of course) correct?

Yes just the front ports will not work.
The only thing that must be plugged in is the power button all the rest don't matter. That is if you don't wish to take the side of the case off to start the PC.
