So I have some mp3 files that are on my computer and I was thinking of compressing them to save more space, however I don't want the quality of said music files to deteriorate.

Solution
To answer your question: Yes, by necessity, as any loss of data would make the vast majority of files that 7zip is used to compress utterly useless. However, as mentioned above, you won't gain much by doing it.

Doesn't work that way. First off, why worry about lossless when MP3 is a "lossy" format? Second, zipping mp3 or other compressed media will save you nearly zero space because it's already compressed as an mp3.

Go ahead and zip them if you want. You'll gain around 1% space and it won't change the quality of the mp3. In the end it won't matter.
