I have an old laptop that my ex boyfriend hacked and infected. All my pictures are still there and I don't know how to transfer those pictures to my new laptop. I saved all pictures on an USB but am not sure if I should go ahead and transfer all files through this USB? Is there any way I can check the files and see if they are infected before I go ahead and save them on my new laptop?

He is an ex :) ok but I guess I will have to go to a public network to download the malware as I had to buy everything new (router, laptop, phones) as he had hacked my router/network...I was never techy but had to learn a lot of things to protect myself. Thanks

Hacking a router is very tough, and doing a factory reset would wipe any odd settings that may have been entered. Who said you needed to buy new things? Factory rest of phone and laptop would wipe out 99% of viruses.
