Case: Fractal Design Define r5
Mobo: Z97-Pro Gamer
GPU: Geforce GTX 660Ti Windforce 2
CPU: i7 4790k - - - CM Hyper 212 EVO
PSU: Corsair TX750W
RAM: 4X4 RipjawsX DDR3
Monitor: 1080p 60hz

I have had a gtx 660ti for 4 years already during the end of the last year I have been thinking about upgrading my GPU. I didn't upgrade at the time because waiting for the next generation (Pascal) would be wiser.
I know I'm a bit late now but I'm not feeling like waiting for the 1080ti but I'm also afraid that getting the 1080 is a bad choice.

Nobody knows for sure, but you're probably right about most of it. Is 20 FPS worth an extra $150. Thats what you have to ask yourself.

I know.. That's why I'm a bit desperate.. I want to run recent games maxed out and the 660ti can't handle most games at medium-high settings with more than 40 fps
My main concern is how much more the 1080ti will be and how long it will take to be released.
On the other hand I want a great graphics card as soon as possible..

Well, I need to get a 1440p monitor or maybe even 4k later on... So getting a higher end isn't so bad.
And until then... I could still downscale big resolutions :)

My 1070 crushes every game I throw at it. I can't imagine a 1080. Everything moves so quickly that within 2-3 years i'm sure I'll want to be upgrading my 1070 to the latest and greatest. I'd say grab the 1080, you won't be disappointed. The improvement from the 660 will be night and day.

I need to know when the 1080ti is expected to be released, its price compared to the 1080 and the performance gain from the 1080.

From what I know:
-1080ti will probably launch near the end of the year.
-It'll probably have 150$ price increase
-It'll probably have 10-20 fps increase on most cases compared to an 1080

Let me know if I'm wrong.

Yes, I think it absolutely is. For me, the wait time is more relevant than the cost. I'm in the same boat and want to upgrade my 480, but I'm going to want to go 4k so I could use that extra power, but do I want to wait?

If you're not worried about cost, and you're not in a hurry to upgrade, then you might as well wait.

I am also in the same boat, I have currently a 480gtx, I upgraded my computer last May to i7 4,1ghz 6700K and 32gb Ram ddr4, I have a 1440p monitor (4 years old still working perfectly but only 60Hz), I know I will upgrade to 4K in the future but I don't think this generation of gpu is ready for 4K with a single GPU, even titan x pascal moves most of the games below 60fps in 4k. Gpu market is launching a new card every 10 months so you can wait forever for a better card that will be launched soon, so my recomendation if you want to run games in 4k 2 1070gtx will move the games better than a single 1080ti (if you can afford 2 1080gtx then this is the best bet). What I am going to do is to buy a 1080gtx now for 1440p, and in a year I will buy a 4k monitor and a second 1080gtx)
